Furnace Flame
There was an opportunity to show not only the king Nebuchadnezzar, but all the people that the idols had no power at all, but the God of Daniel and his friends had all powers. Nebuchadnezzar was a very powerful king, feared by all. One day, he had a very large image of his god of gold. It was ninety feet high and nine feet wide. Everyone knew that the King would do as he says. Soon the sound of music was heard, and people fell on their knees before the image. Three men stood straight and tall as the music played. They were three friends of Daniel. Near them are among the wise men of Babylon. They hastened to the king and said: "O king, live forever. You've done a decree that if anyone should not fall down and worship the golden statue, it should be cast into the fiery furnace. There are three Jews here who have not pay attention to your order. They do not serve your gods, and they do not worship your image. "
The king was very angry. He ordered that Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego be brought him. When they presented themselves before him, he said: "Is it true that you do not serve my gods, nor worship the golden statue that I set up? "We'll give you one more chance. The Young people stood erect before the King, as they said, "O Nebuchadnezzar, we are not afraid to answer. Our God is able to deliver us the furnace of fire and burning your hand. But even if we do not issue the furnace, we must tell you that we will not serve your gods or worship your image.
The king was so angry that his face contorted with rage. He ordered his servants to heat the furnace seven times hotter than it had never been heated before. This was an oven that was built for the king could see that the prisoners were thrown. He called the strongest men of his army to bind the three young men and thrown into the furnace.
The flames were so hot that the soldiers who had thrown into the furnace were burned from the heat. Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego fell to his knees related to fire. The king went to the furnace and shouted: "Servants of the Most High God, come here. "The three men arrived at the foot of the fiery furnace. Not only the king, but all the people saw them. They saw that they were not burned, and there was no smell of fire on their clothes.

Then the king issued another decree, "Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego, who sent his angel and delivered His servants who trusted in Him. Then the king promoted three men and gave them better positions in the kingdom. God protected His servants, because they were faithful to Him.
