Is a goal setting theory is easy to understand and use and produces spectacular results only a distant dream? Fortunately not. Although we may be forgiven for thinking so, given the wealth of information available on the establishment objectives, some of which makes it seem unnecessarily complicated. Perhaps this explains why many who set goals also fail to obtain results as they fall into the water.

Here are two approaches to the theory of goal setting. You can choose the best of each, or use the approach that suits your personality and style. They can be summarized as follows:

Goal Setting Theory 1: You not need to know how you will achieve your goal, just set the goal and keep it in front of you.

Goal Setting Theory 2: To achieve your goal, you need a detailed definition of what specifically you want to achieve and a plan step by step on how to get there.

Let's explore these two aspects of goal setting theory.

Jack Black, a popular motivational speaker UK, used the slogan "Do not ask how!". He was of the opinion, asking "how" you kill the goal right there. Perhaps the objective seems unrealistic, given the circumstances of a person in life. If a person born into poverty with no connection in life wanted to be a famous actor, those around them may naturally ask "How".

Yet there are many life stories of individuals born in very difficult circumstances, with apparently, all set against them in life, clinging to a dream, and finally get there! They do not ask "How?" because if they did, the desire and the goal would be to die. They just keep on the front of their mind day after day, year after year, and they arrive.

RAS (Reticular Activating System) has a role in this regard. A definition SAR: "the network of the reticular formation that serves as an alert or a function of arousal." He describes in particular brain function. Have you ever experienced wanting a car? You have in mind an accurate model,, extras specific color you want. You can just see yourself driving. Then, in a short period of time, you start seeing this car in exact all directions. Why? Because your brain is filtering information and as you have alerted to a specific object, you start to notice whereas before it was there, but you do not mind her.

Between fiction and reality is the secret behind the establishment target theory which says: "Do not ask how." By keeping the goal in front of the mind to remember all days, keep thinking about this, dream IT, you train your brain to identify the opportunities and the means or tools necessary to achieve this goal. They were there all the time, but the brain filters information now so they now leap out of you.

Setting Goal number theory some say 2 is much more realistic. You set an achievable goal. To draft a carefully worded statement "mission" what you want done. You research, find the resources you need. You identify the traps and pitfalls to avoid. You make a plan. You can then take action on the plan. You break the goal setting exercise into small pieces. You set time limits on each section etc. etc.

Perhaps some are disgusted with this approach. After all, it sounds like hard work. You could be exhausted before begin! However, many high performers in business, sports, and other areas of life have used this formula and achieved remarkable results.

Aristotle is quoted as saying: "The man is a target of animal research. Her life has meaning only if is reaching out and striving for his goals. "

So the choice is yours. Maybe you can combine the main concept of the number of approach 1 and allow your brain to filter the information you need naturally, with a basic framework proposed approach in number 2.

Maybe theory of goal setting to call a number on your temperament while goal setting theory number two has no appeal at all. Or perhaps the reverse. Whatever your point of view, not to set goals! There is no doubt they are an ingredient essential in high performance and satisfaction in life!
