Blower Case
Canada Blower Co. has developed high pressure blowers in series systems to achieve static pressure, previously unachievable by single stage centrifugal blowers.
Series and parallel connected blower installations are often used to meet performance ranges exceeding the normal capacity of a single stage blower. For systems that require high pressure ststic, and especially high pressure and high temperature (where standard multi stage blowers, positive displacement, screw, or regenerative type blowers can not not be used) series of single-stage centrifugal can be used. Several times, additional fan in the system can be advantageous. For example, when two fans are mounted in series and one fails, another may be able to "weak" system along any necessary maintenance is performed. Having the fan continue to operate can often allow a limited production, while the other is being repaired. In addition, there are cases where having a fan continue to operate could prevent or at least minimize the damage to system or material things such as high temperature OT drafts contaminated.
Another advantage of blowers in series is that of space can be captured. If the system must be extended and increaases CFM requirements, the space allocated for the original May fan not be large enough for one big fan, but could be large enough for two fans Istallation smaller in series to obtain the necessary pressure.
One more potentail advatage series is for the operation probability of initial cost savings. Although each case must be evaluated individually, it is often more economical to select two "small" respectice blowers with their smaller engines and readers rather than selecting a "big" fan to do the job.
Connected series blowers are those out of the blower in a grueling entrance another blower. By connecting blowersa so, high static pressures can be achieved. This is done while the second adds fan its ability to pressure in the system, increase the capacity beyond the capacity of the fan first.
Ideally, the two fans identical installed in series would result in the same CFM at the outlet of the blower second as the entry of the first, and nearly twice the pressure Static noted that for both single fan. However, some changes will result in both airflow and pressure combined because of the tendency to compressed air pressure. A good understanding of how atnoshperic pressure and temperature affect the absolute density is required. These two factors are involved in choosing appropriate blowers. The density is directly proportional to atmospheric pressure and is inversely proportional to the temperature Absolute (degrees Rankine).
Caution is needed in selecting fans for installtion series. It is generally accepted that most blowers pre-engineering are capable of withstanding twice their catalog rated static pressure. In other words, if two fans were installed series, the second blower housing should withstand higher pressure. There are, however, a need to worry when the combined pressure exceeds twice the nominal static pressure blower. In applications involving series of three or more fans, or any other system which a positive or negative pressure, exists prior to the examination of blowers, building special housing may be necessary.
